We use Google Analytics via the official Site Kit plugin by Google. This helps us understand how people use our site (e.g., which articles are most popular), so we can improve the content.
- IP addresses may be collected, though Google partially anonymizes them by default.
- We do not use remarketing or connect Analytics with other advertising tools.
- All data is used in aggregate – we don’t track individual users across sessions.
- You can manage your consent preferences via our cookie banner.

Some links on SelfHostHero.com are affiliate links. If you click on one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission – at no extra cost to you.
- These links may direct you to external sites that use their own tracking cookies.

Our affiliate relationships do not influence our content. We only recommend tools and services that we genuinely believe are useful for self-hosting.

- Marketing cookies – we currently don’t use any, but this category is reserved for potential future use.

3. No Newsletters, No Accounts, No Tracking Walls
We don’t require you to sign up, log in, or give us your email to read any content.
- We do not sell or rent any user data. Period.

Since we’re based in the Netherlands, we comply with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means:
- You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold (which is likely very little).
- You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time.

If we update this Privacy Policy (e.g., to reflect new tools or regulations), we will:
